Normally the simplest and most economical means of treating wastewater from small developments. The Marsh Horizontal Shallow Septic Tank provides settlement and basic biological treatment for domestic wastewater via anaerobic digestion, before the effluent passes to a drainage field for final treatment. A septic tank cannot discharge directly to a watercourse. Manufactured by Marsh Industries, it's CE accredited with a hydraulic efficiency of 99.63%, tested and approved at PIA GmbH, Aachen, Germany.

Size & options

Available in capacities from 2,800 to 20,000+ litres. Per British Water regulations, minimum storage for a standard four-person dwelling is 2,700 litres, with an additional 150 litres required per extra person. A low-profile version is available for high water table or hard rock sites, and an optional Polylok filter can be added to reduce suspended solids by up to 40%, extending drainage field life.
