Package Treatment Plant Installation for a Barn Conversion in Cheshire East

A property conversion in Cheshire East had no surface or foul drainage in place. We supplied and installed a Marsh Ensign 2 sewage package treatment plant with all drainage runs, and the work passed Cheshire East Council building control sign-off.

The brief

The owner was converting a property and needed a compliant drainage solution. They contacted us by phone, and we arranged a site visit.

What we found

The site visit confirmed the existing build had no surface water or foul drainage at all. Any new system would need to be installed under Cheshire East Council building control regulations, so the design had to meet those requirements before anything went in the ground.

The solution

We quoted to supply a Marsh Ensign 2 sewage package treatment plant, plus all the drainage runs needed to connect the property. The specification was checked against regulatory requirements, and the client accepted the quotation.

The installation

Work started on Monday 14th September 2026 and finished on Friday 18th September 2026, once Cheshire East Council had signed off the installation and issued completion certification.

The electrical connection for the plant is covered by Part P documentation, which the client's electrician completes.

Converting a property with no drainage?

A conversion without existing drainage needs the right system specified at the start, not after the groundworks are underway. We survey the site, specify the treatment plant and drainage runs, and handle the installation through to building control sign-off.
