Biodisc B9 Drainage Repair & Pumping Station Installation at Nunsmere Hall
Following an inquiry from Nunsmere Hall we attended site to determine the cause of their issues with their treated effluent discharge drainage pipework. The hall is served by a Biodisc B9 sewage package treatment plant, which discharges via gravity to the adjacent lake.
A full survey of the discharge line was undertaken, which identified the problem as a collapsed section of drain located within infill ground in a woodland area. The affected pipework was found at an approximate depth of 3 metres. Due to the location, depth, and surrounding ground conditions, excavation and repair of the existing gravity line was deemed impractical and not economically viable.
Following discussions with Nunsmere’s maintenance team and Kingspan, it was agreed that a pumping station would be the most suitable long-term solution.
A twin effluent pumping station was subsequently sized and supplied by Kingspan to suit the site requirements and treatment plant flows. The unit was delivered to site and installed week commencing 23rd February 2026. Installation works were completed in accordance with Chester West Building Control (H2) requirements and Environment Agency consent conditions.
