The owner of Brook Cottage called requesting we attend the property and reinstate the Klargester Biotec sewage package treatment plant. The sewage package treatment plant came out of the ground following the combination of heavy rainfall and a desludge taking place, leaving the property without any foul waste water treatment.

The cause was due to the tank being installed within an embankment, approximately 2 meters from a water course ( non compliant with current building & environment agency legislation ), not surrounded with concrete or gravel ONLY soil backfill.

The sewage was NOT damaged, repositioned in accordance with current building regulations, surround with C25 semi dry concrete, final 300 back filled with as dug spoil and area re turfed

Site left clean / tidy and fully operational - 🤗🤗🤗

A call from a worried property owner with regard to the condition of their sewage package treatment plant ! The unit was being desludged and it was observed that the internal baffle had failed, it was difficult to clarify the cause of the baffle failure.

Reasons could be, build up of sludge pressure causing the baffle to collapse, weakness within build of sewage plant, 3rd party damage.

The treatment plant will require replacing, the effluent quality will not meet Environment Agency discharge consent limits, 20 - 30 - 20 , advised to contact their insurance provider to check if covered on the property household insurance.

Following a site visit and discussions with a local independent nursery / garden centre, we were asked to install a rain water harvesting tank to collect water from buildings & green houses

The unit chosen was a Harlequin rain water harvesting unit, which was installed adjacent to the nursery, for watering of plants within the greenhouses, modified to operate automatically on a timer system.

Following a site visit to a 4 bedroom barn conversion @ WA16 8TH, the client had research waste water sewage package treatment plants on the internet and decided on a Matrix PE06 sewage package treatment plant,

Following an inquiry from a local council housing association we were requested to provide a waste water system to ensure the development complied with Environment Agency binding rules.

A site visit was arranged and discussion with the housing association compliance manager ;-

Following a telephone call regarding blocked drains, we organised a site visit to HPWJ the foul drains to remove any blockages.. The property owner new they had a sewage package treatment plant, had never had it desludged or serviced for over 3 years, when we removed the cover the following was noted ;-

a) sewage plant full to brim.

b) blower not operating.

c) outfall manhole & pipework blocked.

We organise Envirocare (NW ) Ltd to attend site, desludged sewage treatment plant, HPWJ outfall pipework back to tank, then all foul drains around property HPWJ to tank, desludged again, sewage plant cleaned and emptied, waste transferred to registered disposal site with all relevant duty of care documentation.

Blower replaced, serviced / commissioned left fully operational.

Following discussions with our client, after numerous phone calls with the on line sewage treatment plant supplier we finally obtained a tank which would serve the properties. Client told that the tank delivered could not be returned / exchanged, wrong invert depth, not adequate in capacity for the development ( PE06 ). PE10 required to comply with binding rules.

Beware when ordering on line sewage treatment plants - ensure you have the required information regarding site requirements - not always the most effective way to buy !

Septic tank failed, drainage field blinded.

Investigation showed the brick constructed septic tank walls were porous, no ‘ T ‘ pipe on outlet, porosity test completed, results OK, linear meters drainage field calculated.

Desludged septic tank, excavated out concrete base to install a traditional 10 person Kingspan septic tank, concrete into position connecting to existing foul inlet pipework.

Constructed a 56 linear meter traditional drainage field, terram membrane, drainage gravel, 4” / 110 perforated UPVC pipework, cover with drainage gravel, close terram membrane and back fill with as dug spoil, relay turf.

Should be completed 4th May 2023.
