DRAINAGE FIELD

We have been asked on numerous occasions to clarify & confirm if a drainage field to an existing septic tank meets the 2020 binding rules requirements, unfortunately this is difficult to confirm. The drainage field should be constructed in accordance with the then current building regulations & code of practice, based on the results from a percolation test and using the appropriate drainage materials.

# a drainage field can not be CCTV surveyed, it can not be HPWJ - results from these tests are not conclusive. # is the perforated pipework correct ? is the length of drainage field adequate ? as the correct filter media been used to construct the drainage field ?
