SURFACE WATER - FOUL WATER
Following discussions with concerned residents of The Barns, Northwich regarding compliance with 2020 binding rules and the sale of their property, we were asked to outline the sites requirements to ensure the properties adhered to the Environment Agency guidelines.
1/ Was the septic tank connected to a drainage field. 2/ was the drainage field compliant. 3/ was the roof water segregated from the foul water ?
Following a chat with the local Environment Agency area manager, the following information would be required ;-
1/ unable to confirm. no drainage drawings available from the developer, 2/ unable to confirm the construction of the drainage field or area ( meters ), no drawings or building regulation information. 3/ unable to confirm, no drainage drawings available.
ACTION
We will be attending site to complete a percolation test in accordance with current building regulations ; H2, as outlined in BS6297 Code of Practice for the Design and Installation of drainage fields for use in waste water treatment, w/c 11th November 2019.
In addition we will complete a surface water CCTV / dye trace survey to confirm if the roof waters discharge into the existing septic tan, w/c 18th November 2019
