We were requested to attend site and provide an installation cost to install a Kingspan Biotec PE06 sewage package treatment plant. We requested the usual information regarding the development ;

> number of properties, number of bedrooms / property, drainage survey completed to confirm surface and foul drains segregated.

Discussions with the client confirmed all the above was completed ?

The plant was sourced via a builders merchant, possibly provided with incorrect information, hence the wrong size sewage package treatment plant was provided & delivered to site !

Following site visit to Oak & Swallow barns the residents asked if they purchased their sewage package treatment plants directly, would we complete the installation. We attended Cherry Farm to determine / clarify if the septic tank complied with Environment Agency binding rules.

Complete a site drainage survey to confirm if the surface / foul drains were segregated & discharge entered a drainage field or watercourse.

Surface / foul drains segregated , discharge to water course via land drains ; - septic tank non compliant.

A quotation was submitted to replace septic tank with a Marsh Ensign PE06IPS sewage package treatment plant, to include building regulations, desludge of septic tank, install in accordance with manufacturers installation manual, electric connection / certification and registration on the Environment Agency Public register.

Installation to start w/c 27th February 2023.

We were requested to attend site at Bluebell Cottage, Mr Williams was having problems with his septic tank, on investigation we noted that the septic tank was surcharge and there was no ‘ T ‘ pipe on the outlet, which would allow any floating debris to enter the drainage field and blind the perforations within the pipe.

We completed a porosity test, this confirmed that the ground would sustain a drainage field, and based on the results calculated the linear meterage of drainage required

2 trenches were excavated, leaving 2 meters of undisturbed ground between excavations, In accordance with current building regulations. A terram membrane was installed into the excavation, 100 mm of drainage gravel, 4’ /110 UPVC Osma perforated drainage pipework, then covered with 100 m drainage gravel, terram closed and trench back filled with as dug material.

Site left clean and tide, turf reinstated.

Passed by planning and Environment Agency binding rule compliant

Following discussions with Natural Resources Wales and the potential impact of PHOSPHATE discharges within the Dee estuary area , we would like to offer a sewage package treatment plant which can be installed to reduce phosphate discharge concentrations into the environment.

Following a discussion with United Utilities representative we were informed that there was an increasing problem with separable oil grease [ SOG ] within the public foul sewer systems within the North West.

Public houses, restaurants and fast food outlets have inadequate grease collection prior to discharge to the public sewerage system. The properties have either no grease collection or the unit they have is inadequate for their trade, and in many cases there is no maintenance arrangements in place,

Hence, restaurants and public hoses will be required to address the issue of the collection and disposal of separable oil and grease generated from their development.

Grease discharging into the sewer can cause blockages, ( flooding ), equipment failure ( pumping stations, screens blinding etc )
