Septic tank discharges to ground exceeding 2m3 / day require a permit from the Environment Agency

Sewage package treatment plants discharging to a watercourse exceeding 5m3 / day requires a consent to discharge from the Environment Agency

Discharges should only be domestic sewage.

Desludge & service of a waste water plant should be in accordance with the manufactures operating manual or the British Water Codes of Practice and technical guides.

All desludge and maintenance records should be kept for 3 years minimum.
